Winter Reading Challenge 2021
Platteville Public Library is excited to introduce the Simon & Schuster
January 3 – 31
What do I need to do to complete my library challenge?
You have two options for completing the Winter Reading Challenge:
- Read five diverse books this January and log them using Beanstack, OR
- Complete five activities from our Winter Reading Challenge Bingo
What happens after I complete my library challenge?
In addition to being a happier and more well-rounded individual, you’ll get a free book!
How do I pick up my free book?
We tentatively plan to have prizes available through curbside pickup or in the library, depending on current health recommendations.
Can I participate if the Platteville Public Library isn’t my home library?
You are welcome to participate in our library challenge. However, prizes must be picked up in person. There are thousands of libraries all over Wisconsin and the country using Beanstack: try searching the app for your local library!
How do I get started?
- Website: Visit plattevillepubliclibrary.beanstack.com. Click on “Register an individual or family.” Follow the onscreen instructions to register just yourself, just your children, or your entire family.
- App: Search “beanstack tracker” in the App Store or the Google Play store and search for “Platteville.” Follow the onscreen instructions to register just yourself, just your children, or your entire family.
Getting started with Beanstack
What is Beanstack?
Beanstack is online software that includes tools to help you and your family discover books, keep track of your reading, and reach reading goals. Statewide access to Beanstack was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Is there an app?
What if I don’t have the ability to log my reading online?
Call the library 608-348-7441 ext. 2 to ask about being an off-line reader.
