It is then that Amélie discovers her vocation in life – helping others find love and happiness – which she sets about in her own way. Learn how to set up an account, search for titles, and practice transferring them to a device at the library, Monday June 13, 6:00 – 7:00 pm.

If you plan to try using OverDrive, please bring

  • If you have an mp3 players, iPods, e-readers, or other devices that do not use apps, you will also need to bring the cable for your device in order to transfer the files

Ada Gonzales will be presenting “The ACT and SAT: Prepare Yourself for a Higher Score”

She’ll cover the following topics about the ACT and SAT:

  • the importance of taking them and scoring well
  • how they differ
  • test taking tips
  • using free test prep resources

Ms. Gonzales is a college access counselor from Great Lakes and works as part of the College Access Challenge Grant Program.

It’s time for the Platteville Public Library’s PEEPS-O-RAMA, the marshmallow Peeps diorama contest for ALL AGES.

Saturday April 30
Time slots are available from

  • 10:00 am – noon
  • Noon – 2:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We provide Peeps, a box, glue, paper, markers, scissors, and 2 hours.
You create a diorama of a scene from a book using Peeps.
You may also bring any other materials you wish to create your diorama. We will have roughly a dozen Peeps per team. If you need more Peeps or need certain colors or styles, you may bring your own.

Dioramas will be on display at the library so library patrons can vote for the Peep-le’s Choice award.

Sign up as an individual or in teams of up to four people.

  • Teen: all team members must be 12 to 18
  • Adult: all team members must be 19 or over
  • Family: all ages, at least one team member must be over 18

To register you or your team for your 2 hour time slot, call the library at 348-7441, ext 4 or visit the library at 65 S Elm St and sign up at the Information Services desk.

Winners will receive Peeps-tastic fame and glory!

Some important themes which characterize Chinese history are the pattern of dynastic rise and fall, intermittent aggression from northern aliens, varying degrees of openness to outside cultural influences, and the dynamics of stability and social harmony.

These themes still affect China’s political stances and position in the world today.
